Chamber Leaders Meet with Elected Officials in DC
Leaders from the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce along with a team of area delegates will be inWashington DC next week to meet with elected officials from Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas about federal issues that impact northwest Louisiana. The group will also meet with former Senator John Breaux for an update on current issues on Capitol Hill and Presidential elections; the U. S. Chamber of Commerce for a briefing on health care and transportation issues; former Senator J. Bennett Johnston on federal funding for I-49; and a governmental affairs executive with American Electric Power for a briefing on climate change and energy policy challenges
In addition to the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce, representatives from the Bossier Chamber of Commerce, Minden Chamber of the City of Shreveport, Barksdale Forward, Northwest Louisiana Council of Governments, Biomedical Research Foundation of NWLA have registered to participate in the Annual CC to DC Trip (March 10-13).
