Minority Business Council is an affiliate of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. Its mission is to provide a "network" of minority business owners and professionals a forum for receiving information regarding public and private sector opportunities. Additionally, the MBC provides professional programs to develop the educational, technical, marketing, sales, and management skills of minority-owned businesses. The Diplomats serve as the Membership Retention Committee of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. The Diplomats volunteer their time and resources to sustain a year-round retention program that involves making personal visits and follow-up telephone calls to Chamber Members to establish strong relations between the Chamber and the Member. The Diplomats promote membership retention by identifying member concerns and relaying that information to the Chamber and garnering support for the Chamber’s program of work. The Diplomats serve at the pleasure of their employer and are required to follow and guidelines and meet the expectations as outlined herein to remain in good standing as a Diplomat. The Hispanic Business Council (HBC) of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce works to raise the awareness of our region's hispanic business community and to promote initiatives supporting the development of new and existing hispanic-owned businesses. Participation in the HBC is exclusive to members of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. No additional dues are assessed for participation; however, reservations are required and a fee is collected to cover the cost of the meal served at the meeting. HBC meetings are held quarterly.
