From the Chairman

It has been rewarding for me to be involved in the activities of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce. I am especially privileged to have been asked to serve as Chairman of the Board of the Chamber for 2013.

For over 100 years, the Greater Shreveport Chamber has actively served the business community. The guiding purpose is the principal to assist the business community in having an atmosphere that is conducive to be able to do business in our community.

Our Chamber takes leadership roles in attempting to minimize government intervention in allowing the free market system to flourish. While we recognize the many areas we need government involvement, we also want to be sensitive to having a voice when it appears government actions or regulations begin to strangle business activity.

Our Chamber has been recognized for the last five years as a 5-Star Accredited Chamber. This puts our Chamber in an elite class of only 70 other Chambers out of 7,000 in the US, of which we are very proud. This recognition is a testament to the quality of our Chamber staff.

As we continue forward with our commitment of service we hope you would call on the Chamber when we can be of assistance. We would also encourage your involvement and membership. Our Chamber currently has over 1700 members representing over 90,000 employees and our intention is to make our community a better place to live and prosper.
