During the recently completed 2012 Regular Legislative Session the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce dedicated time, resources and energy to advocate three primary areas of interest to our members: K-12 Education Reform, Higher Education and Economic Development. The Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce maintained a presence at the Capitol each week throughout the twelve week session which began March 12 and ended June 4, 2012. There is still time to nominate someone for the 2012 ATHENA Award. This program is presented by the Business Development Connection of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and the Bossier Chamber of Commerce. Nominations must be submitted no later than Friday, June 29. The award recipient will be announced at the ATHENA Awards Luncheon, which will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012.
