AI: The Fear of Messing Up vs The Fear of Missing Out!

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is emerging as a powerful tool and revolutionizing industry worldwide but is it right for you and your business?

Recently news about the latest advancement in Artificial Intelligence (AI) software has been all over the place. Chatbots like ChatGPT have demonstrated the potential to upend many aspects of modern life. In fact, it’s been reported that leading thinkers and consulting firms believe that LLM technology will replace up to 300 million jobs worldwide.  How do organizations understand this profound technology, how to leverage it, and the risks of doing so?

Understanding the need to bring expert resources to our members, we recently partnered with Jason Ingalls, Founder & CEO of Ingalls Information Security, a Louisiana-based cybersecurity company, to offer a workshop on this topic. Jason and his team led us through 90 minutes of an interactive presentation covering the technology’s background, how it works, benefits of using it (correctly!), pitfalls, risks and “ditches” to be aware of and avoid, and then demonstrated some real-life applications of the technology. The lively questions, engagement and feedback throughout the entire presentation have kick-started the much needed conversations around the impacts and enterprise disruption (both positive and potentially not so positive) that this technology presents.

Jason and his team have produced a white paper “Cybersecurity Considerations for Generative AI” which is available to download here and materials from the workshop presentation will also be made available here shortly.

We hope this will be the first of several workshops covering AI and how to maximize the benefits this technology presents. If you are an AI user, especially with experience using chatbots like ChatGPT, and are interested in participating in a future workshop, please contact Carole Bennett at [email protected].
