ATHENA Award Nominations Being Accepted Through July 10

Shreveport, LA— The Women’s Business Council of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce will hold its 19th Annual ATHENA Banquet on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Sam’s Town Casino and Hotel at 11:30 a.m.  The ATHENA Award is presented to a person who demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in their business or profession, provides valuable service by devoting time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community, and assists women in reaching their full leadership potential.

 

Nominations for the award are being accepted now through July 10, 2009.  Nominations are being accepted online: click on Registrations and Nominations to the right of this column.  A special committee of the Women’s Business Council selects the nominees to contend for the coveted award and reveals the recipient at the annual ATHENA award banquet.

 

  The Women’s Business Council is a program of the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce which provides a forum for business professionals to network and exchange information important to the development and advancement of women-owned businesses. Regular participation in the Women’s Business Council is a benefit of membership in the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce so future members and guests are invited to attend up to two times.
